Ath Hull

Product designer and front-end developer

I design interfaces and build them in code, so what gets designed is what ships.

Selected work

Each project has a short case study: the problem, my role, what I did, and the result.

Showing 4 projects

Meridian Health

Brand and website, 2026

A clearer site for a group of regional clinics, designed and built so patients can find a doctor and book without calling.

Tools Figma, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Read the case study
The problem
Patients couldn’t tell which clinic offered what, so most bookings started with a phone call.
My role
Lead designer and front-end developer, working with the clinic’s operations manager.
What I did
Reorganized the site around services and locations, designed a three-step booking flow, and built it as a fast static site.
The result
Booking now takes a few minutes online, and the front desk handles fewer routine calls.

Northline

Product design and web app, 2025

A shipment tracking dashboard for a small logistics team, replacing three spreadsheets with one clear view.

Tools Figma, React, TypeScript, Recharts

Read the case study
The problem
Dispatchers checked three spreadsheets to answer one simple question: where is this order?
My role
Product designer and front-end developer.
What I did
Interviewed dispatchers, listed the questions they ask most, and built a searchable dashboard that answers them at a glance.
The result
Status checks that took minutes now take seconds, and new staff can use it on their first day.

Atelier Kobo

E-commerce build, 2025

An online shop for a ceramics studio, built around large photography and a slow, deliberate pace.

Tools Shopify, Liquid, CSS, JavaScript

Read the case study
The problem
The studio’s old template buried its photography under clutter and loaded slowly on phones.
My role
Front-end developer, working from the studio’s existing brand.
What I did
Built a custom theme with image-first layouts, lazy-loaded media, and a short path to checkout.
The result
The shop loads quickly on mobile, and the owner can add products without help.

Fieldnotes

Editorial design system, 2024

A reading-first publication with a quiet interface, careful typography, and a small, documented design system.

Tools Figma, Storybook, CSS

Read the case study
The problem
Articles looked different from page to page and were tiring to read on small screens.
My role
Designer, working alongside one developer.
What I did
Defined a type scale, spacing rules, and a set of article components, then documented them in Storybook.
The result
New articles are assembled from the same parts and stay consistent without extra design work.

How I work

  1. Discover

We talk through goals, audience, and constraints, and I write a short brief.

You get A one-page brief and an agreed scope.

  2. Design

I sketch the structure, then design the key screens in Figma using real content.

You get A clickable prototype and a type and color system.

  3. Build

I code it with semantic HTML, modern CSS, and only as much JavaScript as it needs, then test on real devices.

You get A fast, accessible site in a repository you own.

  4. Launch and support

I deploy, check performance and accessibility, and walk you through how to update it.

You get A live site, a handover guide, and 30 days of fixes.

About

I started in design and learned to code so I could finish what I started. Today I work on both sides: interface design in Figma, and front-end builds in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
